Overview
The Fabian Garcia center supports greenhouse, orchard and crop research. The center also contains a botanical garden and turf demonstration plots, which are used to screen new plant materials and to teach classes on landscaping, ornamental design and maintenance. The garden and demonstration plots are open to the public. Approximately 28 acres of 42 are dedicated to research and demonstration. Two acres are garden, 2.5 acres in greenhouses and 2.5 acres in buildings and storage. Commodities and type of research include chile, landscape plants, bio-control, native plants, onions, organic gardens, pecans, turf, pines, and weed herbicide. c
